Past loves should stay in the past.
After the way my first love took off for the ends of the earth, the last thing I want is to see him on billboards and bookstore bestseller shelves. Now my boss just handed me the project that could make my career. All I have to do is partner up with the man, the myth, the legend - adventurer Hunter Armstrong.
That's easier said than done, because when we reconnect, I learn Hunter has his own agenda on this project. And it's not to find a treasure in art and antiques. It's me. But what we discover shocks both of us, and we have no choice but to follow the clues....
PS. IT’S ALWAYS BEEN YOU – PART I
by Lauren Blakely
Once again Lauren Blakely is bringing the big guns. Scott Eastwood? Dayum. His voice is smooth like cream with a little roughness that works perfectly for this ragged, adventurer. His narration talent is raw but with a couple more books under his belt he’ll be irresistible and awesome. I think I don’t need to talk about Andi Arndt at this point. She always delivers.
In the first part of this trio of books we meet Hunter and Presley. Ten years ago Hunter left the woman he was madly in love with in a callous way for…wait for it…a job. I couldn’t even fathom Presley’s anger and Hunter and I weren’t off on a good start. Now, another job brings them back together and I could totally see why Presley fell for this restless traveler. He has that kind of charm that makes you feel like the center of his universe. Or maybe it’s just Scott Eastwood’s narration that makes you feel that way. Presley still feels the sting from Hunter’s leaving her like that and on the outside his charm doesn’t work on her. On the inside though she’s fighting the attraction and old feelings that flared up the moment she saw him again. But it’s not only Presley remembering their love.
So now I hope that this man has wisened up over the last ten years and makes Presley the center of his life instead of chasing the next high with his adventures. We’ll see about that in the next installments – Hunter has the potential to become a new favorite book boyfriend.
One thing that bothers me is that this book that would be a full length novel is split in three parts. I find this a little excessive and I don’t really see a hood reason for this. But oh well. I enjoyed the first part quite a bit so I’ll jump right into part 2!
