STACKING THE SHELVES
WELCOME to Stacking The Shelves!
Stacking The Shelves is hosted at Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality and is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
I’m new to blog memes so bear with me if I totally mess up!
I didn’t go as nuts with my one-clicker this week as I usually do. I picked up a couple of freebies and sale books and received two ARCs. One is a physical copy of a book that sounds super promising. It is about a woman with Asperger Syndrome – I’ve read only one other book that had a main character with this form of autism and that was Jennifer Ashley’s The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie.
The book I received courtesy of Berkley is The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang. It’s a debut novel and I can’t wait to read it! I think the blurb sounds fabulous!
A heartwarming and refreshing debut novel that proves one thing: there’s not enough data in the world to predict what will make your heart tick.
Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases–a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with, and way less experience in the dating department than the average thirty-year-old.
It doesn’t help that Stella has Asperger’s and French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. Her conclusion: she needs lots of practice–with a professional. Which is why she hires escort Michael Phan. The Vietnamese and Swedish stunner can’t afford to turn down Stella’s offer, and agrees to help her check off all the boxes on her lesson plan–from foreplay to more-than-missionary position…
Before long, Stella not only learns to appreciate his kisses, but to crave all the other things he’s making her feel. Soon, their no-nonsense partnership starts making a strange kind of sense. And the pattern that emerges will convince Stella that love is the best kind of logic…
The second ARC I received is a PNR with the title Midnight Wolf by Jennifer Ashley from her Shifter’s Unbound series, also courtesy of Berkley. I haven’t read her PNR books in a while but she writes quality romance so I’m very much looking forward to re-visiting this world!
The sales books I bought were only 99c by an author whose writing I adore and a special Valentines Day sale. No idea when I’ll be getting around reading those but I intend to make a dent in my TBR list this year so I hope it’ll be soon.
Finally I bought Mend by Kivrin Wilson. The blurb sounds super intriguing and I just couldn’t resist! The first in this series, Bend, is still free if you’re interested!
So what did you stack your shelves with this week? Anything you’re especially looking forward to? Anything that is a must-read?
